On-site position at our state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Worcester, MA Kinefac Corporation is a world leader in metal forming technology. Based in Worcester, MA, the company is an award-winning machine tool company that engineers, builds and sells machinery around the world and has sales offices in Shanghai, China and Chennai, India. Our KineCoil division designs and manufactures microcoiling equipment and tooling used by leading medical device and small electronics manufacturers to produce tiny spring components for life-saving procedures and precision signaling applications. Our growing company seeks a full-time, highly skilled, detail-oriented precision tool maker with 2-3 years of tool making or precision machining experience to finish, inspect, and produce miniature coiling tooling to exacting tolerances. This role reports to a KineCoil engineer and works closely with the materials manager and tooling engineering group. The hiring wage range is $32 to $34 per hour.
Responsibilities:
Finish, inspect, and serialize miniature precision micro-coiling tooling components such as wire guides, coiling points, and arbors under high power magnification to .0001" tolerance engineering drawings. Perform grinding, filing, lapping, and polishing of carbide and other exotic materials using work holding devices and fixtures. Utilize precision measuring instruments including micrometers and video scopes to verify conformance to dimensional requirements. Maintain high standards of workmanship and attention to detail. Work closely with tooling engineers, materials managers, and production. Safely operate and maintain machining and inspection equipment including Dremels, lapping fixtures, surface grinders, light and video microscopes, optical comparators, and other tool room equipment. Assist with other tool finishing operations in the company as needed. Qualifications Minimum 2 to 3 years of tool maker, precision machinist, or related experience. Ability to work under a microscope performing fine grinding, filing, lapping, and polishing of materials. Ability to use work holding fixtures and measuring tools such as micrometers and optical comparators. Experience in operating manual machining equipment including surface grinders, mills, lathes, and EDM. Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings. Experience working to tight tolerances and high-quality standards. Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship General organization skills, neatness, and ability to follow company policies and procedures. Ability to follow written and oral instructions. Ability to work independently and with other employees. Time management and prioritization skills to complete tasks on time. Basic computer knowledge including Microsoft Office applications. Apprenticeship, vocational training, or formal tool & die education preferred.
