Monday - Friday, 1st Shift (7:00 AM - 3:30 PM) Job Overview We are seeking a detail-oriented Utility Technician to join our production team in Worcester, MA. In this role, you will play a key part in manufacturing, assembling, testing, and repairing specialized aircrew life support equipment and high-altitude flight helmets. Key Responsibilities Assembly & Integration:
Support full-pressure helmet production, including shell lay-up, surface finishing, component integration, and final testing.
Testing & Inspection:
Conduct pressure retention (leak testing) and static pressure tests on assemblies and hardware.
Overhaul & Repair:
Perform maintenance, troubleshooting, overhaul, and repair on high-altitude helmets and associated components.
Visor & Sunshade Production:
Support fabrication, assembly, and quality testing for finished helmet accessories.
Tooling & Equipment:
Use, clean, and maintain various hand tools, power tools, precision measuring devices, and paint spray guns.
Documentation & Support:
Assist with inventory record-keeping, material ordering, cross-department coordination (Engineering, Quality Assurance), and periodic training updates.
Qualifications & Requirements Work Authorization:
Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) .
Education:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Experience:
1-3 years of hands-on experience or technical training in one of the following areas: Aircrew Life Support / Flight Equipment (Military or Commercial), Automotive / Aircraft body repair, or commercial/hobby experience using paint sprayers .
Technical Skills:
Ability to read blueprints, engineering drawings, and fabrication procedures. Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, shop machinery (e.g., drill press, saws, grinders), and precision measuring tools (e.g., machinist scale, calipers, pressure gauges). Good hand-eye coordination, troubleshooting abilities, and basic math/computer skills.
Communication:
Ability to read, write, and speak fluent English.
Physical & Environmental Requirements:
Ability to move around the shop floor and lift items over 20 lbs occasionally. High manual dexterity for repetitive assembly tasks. Comfortable wearing personal protective equipment (respirators/dust masks) when needed.
