Laser Operator

Description:

Marra Forni is seeking a Laser Operator for its Beltsville facility which specializes in manufacturing brick ovens. The Laser Operator will cut metal pieces and products by using laser-cutting equipment.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Plans details of work order procedures, gathers required tools and materials based on instructions and specifications provided for the job. Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area. Notifies supervisor when faulty equipment or defective materials are discovered. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Required Skills/Abilities:

Thorough understanding of machines and tools. Basic understanding of design techniques, principles, and tools necessary for the precise production of technical plans, drawings, models, and blueprints. Excellent ability to read and listen to assignments given in a variety of forms. Basic understanding of mathematics as related to welding assignments. Effective communication and math skills. Proven track record for attendance, problem-solving skills, and working independently. Attention to detail. Ability to read blueprints and other technical documents. Ability to use and understand precision measuring tools. Team player. Must have reliable transportation.

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. Completion of a formal apprenticeship or successful completion of an in-company, three-year training program preferred.

Physical Requirements:

Must have enough manual dexterity and stability as required for precision work. Must be able to see details at close range. Good eyesight and ability to read. Must be able to lift 70 pounds at a time. Ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials up to 50 lbs. Ability to use manual machinery. Prolonged periods of standing.

Work hours:

6:30AM - 3:30PM.

Compensation:

Based on experience.
