EDM Specialist

Job Description

Job Posting Title EDM Specialist Job Description Summary Plan, lay out, and perform all bench and machine operations to construct, alter and repair intricately designed and constructed tools, dies, fixtures, molds, gauges, machine attachments and mechanisms.
Job Description:
Completion of state-qualified apprenticeship program or equivalent work experience with general education including verbal and written communication and technical math.
  • Ability to perform difficult/technical calculations with decimals and fractions, use and interpret a wide variety of precision measuring instruments for exacting measurements, work from complicated drawings and specifications.
  • Consistently demonstrate a high degree of skill and extensive knowledge of tooling practices and applications; set up, adjust, and operate machine shop equipment.
  • Strong inter-personal skills needed to effectively train, guide, and support others in performing their duties and responsibilities. Ability to effectively organize work flow and set priorities in accordance with established procedures and daily instructions. Program, operate and maintain wire & conventional EDM equipment
  • Lay out work and plan machining and bench procedures. Train lower skilled tool makers on operations and procedures.
  • Perform difficult machining operations requiring complicated set ups involving the improvising of tooling and machines for adaptations beyond the normal range and capacities of available equipment.
  • Perform critical bench and assembly operations to fit, align, adjust, assemble and finish work Required Skills and Education
  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, squat, bend, twist, crawl, kneel and climb.
  • Ability to lift at least 50 lbs. frequently and 75-100 lbs. occasionally.
  • Repetitive use of hands for simple grasping, pushing, pulling, and fine manipulation.
  • Excellent vision and depth perception
