Job Overview The Mold Maker is responsible for building the necessary components, polishing detail, and overseeing the final assembly of the mold. The position demands a seasoned blend of technical skills, precision, and attention to detail to ensure the efficient production of high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities:

Machine Setup:

Prepare and set up mills, grinders, lathes, and EDM machines for operation by installing and adjusting tools, attachments, and workpieces. Ensure machines are calibrated according to the specifications of the job.

Operation:

Operate various machines to perform tasks such as drilling, grinding, milling, etc., according to the job order and blueprints. Monitor machines during operation to detect any issues.

Quality Control:

Inspect and measure finished products to ensure they meet specifications. Use precision tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions and alignment.

Maintenance:

Perform routine maintenance on various machines, including cleaning and lubrication. Identify and troubleshoot minor machine malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.

Record Keeping:

Maintain accurate records of job orders, production runs, quality checks, and machine maintenance. Ensure documentation complies with company standards and regulatory requirements. Turn in appropriate documents to QA to preserve records.

Safety:

Adhere to all safety guidelines and practices, including wearing protective gear and following operational protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.

Collaboration:

Work closely with other machinists, production staff, and supervisors to optimize production workflows and address any issues promptly.

Skills and Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years of experience building injection molds; experience with aluminum injection molds is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and blueprints.
• Proficient in the use of precision measuring instruments.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to polish up to a SPI-A2 surface finish is ideal.

Pay:

$28.00 - $36.00 per hour
