Do you thrive turning tough steels into mirror-flat, on-spec parts? Can you read complex GD&T and make sound choices on wheels, feeds, and fixturing? Are Okamoto and Parker Majestic grinders your comfort zone? What you'll do Set up and operate surface grinding equipment, including programmable wet and manual grinders (Okamoto, Parker Majestic). Select, mount, and dress wheels; set speeds/feeds; ensure robust fixturing for flat and contoured surfaces. Translate blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings with advanced GD&T into process plans. Measure twice, grind once: conduct in-process and final inspections using micrometers, calipers, and optical comparators. Keep machines production-ready through troubleshooting, minor adjustments, and routine upkeep. Model safe work practices and proper PPE usage. Coordinate closely with operations, engineering, and administrative teams to hit quality and schedule targets. Assist with additional shop tasks as assigned. What you'll bring High school diploma or equivalent. At least 5 years of hands-on experience setting up/operating manual surface grinders. Proficiency with programmable wet grinders and manual surface grinders.

Experience required:

manual Parker Majestic and Okamoto Linear 618 or equivalent.

Strongly preferred:

prior Okamoto wet grinder experience.

Plus:

Blanchard grinding exposure. High proficiency in blueprint reading and GD&T. Comfort operating in low-volume, high-mix manufacturing. Excellent dexterity, attention to detail, and dedication to fine craftsmanship. Collaborative communication skills. Own precision tools (micrometers, calipers, depth micrometer, etc.).
