Precision Machine Tool Manufacturing About the Company (Confidential) Our client is a long-established, global leader in precision machining systems , serving major automotive and advanced manufacturing companies worldwide. Their Michigan operation supports machine builds, tooling, and high-accuracy manufacturing processes. (This position is being confidentially managed by Connect Force Recruiting.) Position Overview The Tooling Prep Technician supports the machine build and tooling departments by cleaning, assembling, organizing, and reassembling tooling components used in precision machinery. This is an entry-to-mid level hands-on role that requires reliability, attention to detail, and basic mechanical comfort. No machining experience required — the work is primarily tool cleaning, staging, inspection, and basic assembly tasks . Key Responsibilities Clean and maintain tooling components using approved processes and materials. Assemble, reassemble, and organize tooling according to instructions or diagrams. Ensure tools are free of debris, properly labeled, and prepared for machine builders or engineers. Keep tooling storage areas neat, structured, and well inventoried. Assist in identifying worn or damaged tooling and reporting it to supervisors. Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean, orderly work environment. Support team members with additional tasks related to tool prep and organization. Required Qualifications Basic mechanical aptitude (comfortable handling hand tools). Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately. Strong attention to detail — ability to keep tools clean, organized, and properly prepared. Reliable and consistent work habits in a production environment. Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 40 lbs. Preferred But Not Required Experience in a shop, warehouse, or tooling environment. Familiarity with basic tool components (arbors, fixtures, holders, etc.).
