3009160548-2 Apply for this job now Job Description 3M is seeking a skilled Tool Maker to build, repair, and maintain precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures that keep our manufacturing operations running safely and efficiently. In this on-site role, you'll interpret detailed blueprints and CAD models, set up and operate CNC and manual machines, and use precision measuring tools to hold tight tolerances. You'll collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve tooling performance, support root cause analysis, and drive continuous improvement. 3M offers robust training, growth opportunities, and a culture grounded in safety, science, and innovation. Responsibilities Fabricate, assemble, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures to support 3 M production lines. Interpret engineering drawings, CAD models, and schematics to produce tooling to tight tolerances. Set up and operate CNC and manual machines to mill, turn, grind, and finish tooling components. Inspect parts using precision measurement tools and document dimensional accuracy. Perform preventive maintenance and troubleshooting on existing tooling to minimize downtime. Collaborate with engineers, production, and maintenance to improve tooling designs and processes. Apply root cause analysis to tooling failures and implement corrective actions. Follow 3 M safety, quality, and housekeeping standards in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
