Job Description
About the Role As a CNC Machining Specialist, you will drive manufacturing excellence by developing sophisticated programs for vertical machining centers and automated inspection systems. Your expertise in optimizing tool paths and machining strategies will directly enhance production throughput and ensure the highest levels of precision for our complex components. Responsibilities Develop and refine high-efficiency CNC milling programs using advanced CAM software to support precision tooling production. Configure and manage optical inspection systems to automate quality verification workflows and ensure strict adherence to engineering specifications. Translate complex CAD models and technical blueprints into actionable machining strategies, incorporating precise GD&T requirements. Create comprehensive setup documentation, including tool paths, pickup points, and grind stock parameters to streamline production. Proactively troubleshoot programming or machining anomalies to minimize equipment downtime and maintain consistent output. Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify opportunities for cycle time reduction and quality enhancement. Oversee the lifecycle of cutting tools, managing inventory levels and optimizing tool performance to support uninterrupted operations. Partner with cross-functional teams, including engineering and quality assurance, to implement design changes and drive continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications Required Skills 5+ years of hands-on experience in CNC milling programming within a metal stamping or precision manufacturing environment. Advanced proficiency in CAM platforms such as Mastercam or GibbsCAM. Deep technical knowledge of G-code, machining principles, and optimal feed/speed selection. Demonstrated ability to interpret complex blueprints and GD&T specifications with high accuracy. Strong problem-solving skills focused on maintaining production efficiency and quality standards. Preferred Skills Technical degree or specialized certification in manufacturing or machining technology. Prior experience managing optical inspection systems for automated quality control. Background in tooling procurement, inventory management, and cutting tool optimization. Experience supporting toolroom operations and die manufacturing processes.
