Job Description
Tool & Die Maker 1st Shift | Up to $43/Hour | Family-Owned Manufacturing Company Are you a skilled Tool & Die Maker looking for a challenging first-shift opportunity where your craftsmanship makes a real impact? You'll work on complex tooling projects, support aerospace and precision manufacturing customers, and be part of a collaborative team where your ideas and expertise are truly appreciated. What You'll Do Design, build, modify, and maintain complex tools, dies, jigs, fixtures, and specialized manufacturing equipment. Create high-precision components using CNC machines, lathes, mills, surface grinders, and other machining equipment. Interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models to manufacture tooling to exact specifications. Assemble, troubleshoot, repair, and optimize tooling to maximize production efficiency and minimize downtime. Perform preventative maintenance and ongoing tool improvements. Partner closely with production, engineering, and quality teams to enhance processes, reduce costs, and improve product quality. Support inspection and quality initiatives using precision measuring equipment and quality control techniques. Contribute to continuous improvement efforts by recommending tooling and process enhancements. What We're Looking For 5+ years of Tool & Die, tooling, or precision machining experience. Strong experience operating manual and CNC machining equipment. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and CAD models. Knowledge of GD&T, tolerances, materials, and manufacturing processes. Experience using precision measurement tools such as micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and CMM equipment. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Commitment to producing high-quality, precision work. Preferred Qualifications Tool & Die apprenticeship, technical training, or related machining education. CAD/CAM and CNC programming experience. Experience supporting aerospace, medical, or other highly regulated manufacturing environments. Job shop or custom manufacturing experience. This role operates within a modern machine shop environment utilizing CNC mills, lathes, grinders, and precision measuring equipment. The work is challenging, hands-on, and ideal for a Tool & Die professional who enjoys solving problems, building precision tooling, and seeing the direct impact of their work on production success. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Shakopee, MN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $42.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
