Full Job Description Position Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Tool & Die Maker to join a well-established manufacturing facility in Lumberton, NC. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in tool and die manufacturing, CNC and manual machining, die repair, precision measurement, blueprint reading, and troubleshooting. This position is best suited for an experienced Tool & Die professional who can independently manufacture, repair, modify, inspect, and maintain dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and other precision tooling used in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:

Build, repair, modify, troubleshoot, and maintain dies and other precision tooling. Read and interpret complex blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and tooling documentation. Determine dimensions, tolerances, machining requirements, and proper sequence of operations. Set up and operate CNC and manual machining equipment . Operate milling machines, lathes, grinders, drill presses, band saws, and other tool-room equipment. Machine precision components used in dies, jigs, fixtures, gauges, and production tooling. Perform precision grinding, polishing, fitting, scraping, and finishing of tooling components. Diagnose die and tooling problems and make necessary repairs or modifications. Perform preventative maintenance on dies and tooling to reduce production downtime. Inspect dies for wear, damage, improper clearances, surface defects, and dimensional issues. Use micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, and other precision measuring instruments . Verify dimensions and tolerances of machined components. Fit and assemble precision tooling components. Fabricate and modify jigs, fixtures, templates, and other manufacturing aids. Perform first-piece/first-hit testing and make tooling adjustments as necessary. Troubleshoot tooling problems that affect production, part quality, or machine performance. Work closely with production, engineering, maintenance, and quality personnel to resolve manufacturing issues. Maintain accurate work and maintenance documentation. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe tool-room/work environment. Follow all company safety procedures and manufacturing standards. Perform additional Tool & Die and machining responsibilities as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

Previous professional experience as a Tool & Die Maker, Senior Toolmaker, Journeyman Tool & Die Maker , or similar position. Strong experience with tooling and die repair/maintenance . Experience operating CNC and manual machining equipment . Strong knowledge of mills, lathes, grinders, drill presses, and related machine-shop equipment. Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and engineering drawings. Strong understanding of tolerances and precision machining. Experience using micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, gauge blocks, and other precision inspection equipment. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work independently and determine the appropriate repair or machining process. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Ability to work safely in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Education/Certification Preferred:

Associate degree in Tool & Die, Machining Technology, or a related technical field and/or Journeyman Tool & Die Maker certification. Equivalent combination of extensive Tool & Die experience and technical training may be considered depending on employer requirements.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to bend, reach, push, pull, and perform repetitive movements. Ability to safely lift and handle materials weighing up to approximately 50 lbs. Comfortable working around industrial machinery, machining equipment, noise, oils, and manufacturing operations.

Pay:

$30.00 - $38.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40.0 per week
