Job Description:
Tool and Die Technician 3rd shift - Sanford, NC At Pentair, you will work alongside passionate problem-solvers who are committed to the future of our planet. We have an opportunity for a Tool and Die Technician to join our Sanford, NC team. You will utilize your knowledge, skills, and expertise to safely install, inspect, diagnose, repair, and maintain injection molds and tooling. This role also supports the maintenance of production and facility equipment and performs fabrication and machining responsibilities within the toolroom.
You will:
Be responsible for all current tooling repairs, engineering changes etc. Build and maintain fixtures to remove hand loaded inserts to ensure operator safety. Be responsible for getting multiple quotes on tool repairs to stay in budgetary limits. Repair and maintain all injection molds that belong to Pentair Pool Products. Control tooling budget. Keep tooling dept. trained to meet injection molding and customer demands. Participate in continuous improvement process Communicate with outside molding vendors to get quotes and discuss repair work on tools that are not located at our facility. Be on call 24hrs a day /7 days a week. Set tooling priorities. Work with scheduling before any repair is approved to keep down time to a minimum.
Qualifications:
Be able to operate all tool room equipment: milling machines, lathes, grinders, hand tool, hand grinders, welder with precision. Able to properly use precision measuring equipment such as micrometers, calipers, depth micrometers, indicators, pin gages, height gages etc. Able to properly read blueprints, tooling prints, part prints with accuracy. Computer literate
Compensation:
For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated hourly base pay is $28.00 an hour plus 8% of shift premium . At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with a demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs.
Position hours/shifts:
3 rd shift: 10:45pm to 7:15am, Monday through Fri (Plus overtime and weekends if needed)
Physical Requirements:
Physical requirements are standing, walking, twisting at the waist, lifting, and lowering weights up to 50lbs. Steel toed shoes are required on the distribution floor.
