Fabrication Shop Helper

Position Description We are looking for a fabrication/ shop helper. This candidate will be responsible for producing, crafting and testing various types of materials. This is a full-time position Monday - Friday 6:00am - 2:30 pm with possible overtime. Core Responsibilities Include Measure, cut, or shape wood, plastic, metals and other materials to fabricate or alter products Set up, operate, and tend drill presses, routers, sanders, planers, etc Install hardware, such as pulls and drawer slides, and fit specialty products for various types of material Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Must be able to use power tools such as saws, drills, sanders etc Experience in the sign industry is a plus Experience in using and/or programming manual, semi-automated or automated tools and machines (lathes, grinders etc.) a Plus Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements a Plus Knowledge of the properties of metal and other materials Experience welding is a plus High school diploma or equivalent; completion of vocational training or an apprenticeship will be an asset Salary commensurate with experience.
