5+ Years Tool & Die Maker Opportunity We are seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker to join a growing manufacturing team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Tool and Die Maker, Toolmaker, Manual Machinist, or Precision Machinist with strong experience in tooling, dies, fixtures, jigs, manual machining, and precision measurement. The ideal Tool & Die Maker will have at least 5 years of hands-on experience manufacturing, modifying, repairing, and maintaining precision tooling and machine components. Candidates should be comfortable working independently from blueprints, sketches, specifications, and engineering drawings while maintaining extremely tight tolerances. This position requires hands-on experience operating manual lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders, as well as strong troubleshooting and mechanical problem-solving skills. Tool & Die Maker Responsibilities Set up and operate manual lathes, milling machines, surface grinders, and other precision machining equipment. Manufacture, modify, alter, and repair tooling, dies, fixtures, jigs, and assembly machine components. Read and interpret blueprints, sketches, specifications, and engineering drawings. Perform precision machining and fitting of components according to required specifications and tolerances. Assemble and disassemble tooling and machine components. File, grind, smooth, polish, and finish parts to achieve an exact fit. Inspect completed components using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments. Verify part dimensions and test finished tools to ensure specifications and quality standards are met. Diagnose and troubleshoot machine errors, defective parts, tooling problems, and equipment issues. Perform adjustments and repairs to tooling and components as necessary. Document technical activities, repairs, troubleshooting, and completed work. Apply trigonometry and geometry when performing machining, layout, and measurement calculations. Follow all established safety procedures and wear required personal protective equipment. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area. Tool & Die Maker Requirements Minimum 5 years of proven Tool & Die Maker experience required. High school diploma or equivalent required. Apprenticeship, vocational training, technical school, or community college certification in Tool & Die, Machining, Manufacturing Technology, or a related field preferred. Strong experience with manual machining. Hands-on experience operating manual lathes, milling machines, and surface grinders. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, sketches, and technical specifications. Strong knowledge of precision measurement and tight tolerances. Proficiency using micrometers, calipers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools. Working knowledge of geometry and trigonometry. Experience manufacturing and repairing tooling, dies, fixtures, jigs, and machine components. Strong mechanical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Ability to diagnose tooling problems, machine errors, and part defects. Ability to stand for extended periods. Ability to safely lift and handle heavy components and materials. Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality precision work. Safety-focused with the ability to follow established manufacturing and PPE requirements.
