The prototype facility works primarily with metal and plastic materials to produce prototype parts and assemblies that become components for new product development. This is an exciting opportunity for a mechanically inclined, hands-on, detail oriented individual to learn varied skills and contribute to our growing organization. In this role the selected candidate will be trained to program, setup, and operate various shop equipment to produce precision parts and assemblies in short-run quantities. This work will require an innate talent for problem solving and technical skills in CAD. Candidate should be highly motived to learn the skills outlined below. Responsibilities include completing in-house training to operate the following shop equipment High-pressure waterjet
Plastic Prototyping Equipment:
SLA, FDM
& Polyjet Sheet metal forming and hardware insertion Other power fabrication equipment Finishing & painting of prototypes CNC Press brake Lathe CNC Mill Assist other members of the Prototype Shop staff with additional tasks: Assembly of test units Construction and assembly of test fixtures Rework of existing parts Perform routine maintenance on equipment per department proceduresAdditional Training Reading of Technical Prints Use of Calipers Learning of CAD Software:
Creo Qualification Education:
College, Technical School or High School High mechanical aptitude needed to visualize 3D designs Logical and Creative problem-solving skills Ability to quickly learn new technical skills including software applications and equipment Able to work in a fast-paced environment Detail oriented, working to tight tolerances Ability to work with minimal supervision Be able to lift 40lbs. Qualifications below are an additional benefit: Experience with equipment listed in responsibilities section Ability to read and understand technical prints Ability to program in a CAD system to run shop equipment HVLP/Air Brush Painting skills CAD experience: Creo aka Pro Engineer (ProE) or Solidworks Basic soldering skills and/or simple understanding of wiring Wood Working (Table Saw, Chop Saw, Router)Spot Welding Pay:
