  • Depending on experiecne $$$$ Job Overview We are actively seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Die and Tool Maker to join our manufacturing team on an urgent basis.
This role is essential for designing, fabricating, maintaining, and repairing precision tooling used in various manufacturing processes, including plastics injection molding, stamping, and metal machining. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in toolroom operations, CNC machining, manual machining, and precision measurement techniques. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to high-quality production and innovative tooling solutions in a fast-paced environment. Duties Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings using GD&T standards to ensure accurate tool fabrication. Set up and operate CNC machines such as CNC lathe and CNC milling machines for precise tool production. Program CNC equipment utilizing CAM software and CNC programming skills to manufacture complex tooling components. Perform manual machining operations including grinding, milling, turning, and welding to complete tool assemblies. Conduct precision measurements using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other measurement instruments to verify dimensions. Fabricate and assemble tooling components with hand tools while adhering to strict quality control standards. Maintain detailed documentation of machining processes, schematics, maintenance logs, and inspection reports. Troubleshoot and repair existing tools or fixtures efficiently to minimize downtime. Support maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) activities related to tooling equipment. Collaborate with design engineers using CAD software such as SolidWorks or CAD for tool design modifications. Use shop math skills for calculations related to dimensions, tolerances, and material properties. Operate electrical discharge machining (EDM) equipment for precision cutting of hard metals. Ensure safety protocols are followed during all machining and fabrication activities. Skills Proficiency in CAD software including AutoCAD and SolidWorks for designing and modifying tools. Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code or M-code. Expertise in GD&T principles for precise blueprint interpretation. Experience with plastics injection molding tooling processes. Skilled in manual machining techniques using lathes, grinders, mills, and hand tools. Familiarity with stamping presses and fabrication processes related to metal forming. Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical schematics accurately. Knowledge of shop math for measurements, tolerances, and material calculations. Experience with precision measurement instruments like micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges. Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of metal machining principles. Background in toolroom operations within a manufacturing environment involving tooling setup and maintenance. Experience working with schematics for troubleshooting machinery or tooling issues. Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately while adhering to quality standards. Strong problem-solving skills combined with attention to detail in a fast-paced setting.
