Job Description
CNC Content Creator & Maker Techno CNC Systems | Ronkonkoma, NY | Full-Time Are You a Maker Who Loves to Create? Techno CNC Systems is looking for a creative, energetic, hands-on CNC enthusiast to join our team in Ronkonkoma, NY. We are looking for someone who doesn't just want to operate a machine — we want someone who wants to create with it. This is a unique opportunity for a person who loves woodworking, fabrication, building, making, designing, experimenting, and being in front of a camera. Your job will be to learn our CNC machines inside and out, come up with creative projects and applications, make them, and turn those projects into engaging video content for Techno CNC's website, YouTube, social media, and marketing channels. Think maker + CNC expert + content creator + on-camera personality. If you are the type of person who sees a CNC machine and immediately starts thinking, "I wonder what I could make with that..." — we want to hear from you!! What You'll Do Learn and become highly knowledgeable about Techno CNC's full line of CNC routers, CNC plasma machines, and other equipment. Operate CNC machinery safely and confidently. Design and create interesting, useful, impressive, and sometimes just plain fun projects. Work with a wide variety of materials including wood, plywood, MDF, plastics, acrylic, foam, aluminum, and other materials. Develop original project ideas that demonstrate what CNC technology can actually do. Create step-by-step project videos, machine demonstrations, tutorials, tips, how-to videos, product videos, and application videos. Film yourself operating machines and building projects. Be comfortable speaking naturally and confidently on camera. Explain CNC concepts, tools, materials, feeds and speeds, techniques, and projects in a way that is easy and entertaining to understand. Help develop ideas for YouTube videos, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, and other social content. Work with our marketing team to develop a consistent stream of fresh CNC content. Photograph finished projects and machines for marketing and promotional use. Help demonstrate machines for customers, visitors, trade shows, and events when needed. Experiment with different materials, tooling, techniques, and applications to discover new ways to showcase our machines. Help build Techno CNC into a recognizable maker and CNC education brand. We're Looking for Someone Who Is... Creative. You naturally come up with ideas and aren't afraid to experiment. Hands-On. You like building things. You'd rather be in the shop making something than sitting behind a desk all day. Curious. You want to understand how things work and aren't afraid to learn something new. A Great Communicator. You can explain what you're doing clearly and naturally — whether you're talking to one customer or thousands of people watching a video. Comfortable on Camera. You don't have to be a professional actor or influencer. We want someone with a genuine personality who can talk about what they're making without sounding scripted. A Problem Solver. CNC doesn't always do exactly what you expect. You enjoy figuring out why, fixing it, and trying again. Energetic. We want someone who is genuinely excited about making things and sharing that excitement with other people. Self-Motivated. We don't want someone who needs to be told what project to make every morning. We want someone who can walk into the shop and say, "I have an idea." Experience That Would Be a Plus Experience in any of the following is a major plus: CNC routers CNC plasma Woodworking Cabinetmaking Sign making Furniture building Fabrication Machining CAD/CAM VCarve, Aspire, Fusion 360, EnRoute, or similar software 3D modeling Welding or metal fabrication Laser cutting 3D printing Maker/DIY projects Video production YouTube or social media content creation Photography Product demonstrations But here's the important part: You do NOT need to be an expert in everything listed above. If you are a talented maker, creative thinker, fast learner, and someone who is genuinely excited about CNC technology, we are willing to teach you the machines. The Right Person for This Job... Maybe you're a professional woodworker who has always wanted to learn CNC. Maybe you're a CNC operator who loves creating projects. Maybe you're a machinist who loves explaining how things work. Maybe you're a maker who already creates projects for YouTube or social media. Maybe you're someone who spends your weekends building furniture, signs, toys, automotive parts, home projects, or just about anything you can think of. We care more about your creativity, personality, curiosity, and ability to make things than having a perfect resume. Content You Could Create One day you might be: Making a custom piece of furniture on a Techno CNC router Cutting an intricate sign Carving a 3D design Machining aluminum components Building a custom display Creating something for a home project Testing different CNC router bits Showing how fast a CNC can cut a sheet of plywood Comparing different materials Demonstrating a new machine Making a project from start to finish Creating a "Can We Make This?" project Troubleshooting a CNC problem on camera Teaching viewers how to get better results from their CNC Creating a project specifically because someone commented and asked us to make it The goal is to show people what is possible with a Techno CNC machine. And your "everyday" at work will always be fun, new and exciting. About Techno CNC Systems Techno CNC Systems is a U.S.-based manufacturer of industrial CNC equipment located in Ronkonkoma, New York.
