Tool and Die Maker/Die Maintenance - 2nd Shift

Build new tooling and details if necessary. Support production department to keep dies running in presses. Educational Qualifications Must have high school diploma or GED. Trade school degree is a plus. Job Qualifications Tool and die maker for at least two years. Job history of stamping dies. Must have knowledge of reading blue prints and measuring instruments such as micrometers; calibers; indicators, etc. Understand the timing of dies and the knowledge of die clearances. Operate all Tool Room machinery and supporting equipment. Employee must have own tool box and tools to do the job. Work with close tolerances to make detail sections from part prints or cad files. PPE Qualifications 1) Steel Toe Shoes

  • Company Provided.
List of Specific Functions (Must be performed in order to fulfill the purpose of your position described above) Maintain various dies such as progressive dies; compound dies; single hit dies; Form dies and hand transfer dies, by sharpening, polishing and shimming. Square up die steels in mills and grinders. Change dies over as needed for production. Trouble shoot dies in and out of presses to resolve potential problems. Make new dies; die sections or fixtures when needed per part print or cad file. Use Plex system to communicate dies condition, capability and readiness. Other duties as assigned by managers.
