About the Role As a Precision Tooling Machinist, you will serve as a critical technical resource for our manufacturing operations by designing, building, and maintaining complex tooling, fixtures, and dies. You will leverage your expertise in manual and CNC machining to drive production efficiency and ensure every component meets rigorous quality and regulatory standards. Responsibilities Fabricate and repair custom tooling and fixtures to support Engineering, Maintenance, and Production departments. Operate a variety of manual machine tools, including engine lathes, mills, and grinders, to achieve precise tolerances. Interpret complex blueprints and translate conceptual sketches into high-quality finished components. Optimize machining processes by applying expert knowledge of material properties, feeds, and speeds. Perform quality inspections using precision gauges, comparators, and GD&T standards to ensure compliance. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members on the safe and effective operation of shop equipment. Support CNC production workflows through setup, changeover, and troubleshooting as required. Proactively identify opportunities to improve fixture designs and manufacturing applications to boost output. Required Skills High school diploma or equivalent. Proven proficiency in manual machining and CNC setup. Strong ability to read and interpret technical blueprints. Deep understanding of GD&T and precision measurement tools. Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks related to shop operations. Preferred Skills 10+ years of experience in a precision machining or tool room environment. Formal certifications in Tool & Die or related machining disciplines. Experience working within AS9100 or ISO9001 quality management systems. Demonstrated ability to work independently as a self-starter in a fast-paced environment.
