Job Description
Summary The Tool Room Technician coordinates all tooling area activities on new programs and existing tool repairs/upgrades to ensure customer satisfaction. This is accomplished by ensuring that molds are operational and are able to meet and exceed our customer expectations. Responsibilities Prepare molds for production and perform minor repairs as needed Organize priorities and activities in the tooling area Perform preventative maintenance on molds and maintain all preventative maintenance records Establish maintenance routines for every tool and improve tooling area resources Utilize the ERP system for work orders and reports Evaluate work requests and estimated job times and coordinate schedule to optimize resources to meet production needs Assist as needed with new mold set-ups to ensure all quality standards are achieved on every job Communicate with Engineering Manager, Manufacturing Manager, and the rest of the management team concerning all mold work progress and impacts on production Loading and unloading of incoming and outgoing molds, and collecting all affiliated documentation Review incoming molds for damage and/or issues to report immediately to the Engineering Manager Perform incoming inspections to verify components are working properly and if additional equipment is required to use with current equipment, and completing incoming inspection documentation Prepare molds to be sent out for repairs, engineering changes, etc. Follow ISO standards and be prepared for audits Keep work area in a safe and organized working condition per company standards
