A Tool and Die Maker builds the tools and dies used to make a variety of products and appliances. Works with mechanical engineers to build and assemble parts according to blueprints.

This position will be a full-time onsite position located in our manufacturing facility in Norwalk, Ohio Job Summary The Tool & Die Setter is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing Molding Tools. among others. The Tooling Technician will also be responsible for installing, inspecting, and improving the efficiency of the equipment while adhering to safety, quality, and operational efficiency requirements.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Sets up molding machines that mold parts for automotive trim. Lifts specified tools/dies into the machine using chain fall, crane or hoist. Secures tools/dies in position adjusts stroke of ram using appropriate tools. Connects water hoses to cooling system of tools/dies. Preheats tools/dies with appropriate heating unit if necessary. Turns valves and sets dials to regulate flow of water circulating through tools/dies, timing cycle and operating speed of machine. This will be based on the size and structure of the part to be molded and the temperature of material being used. Starts machine to produce production and/or sample parts and then examines product to ensure set up is correct. May have duties that include cleaning of molding machines and tools/dies. May be required to perform maintenance on machines or tools/dies, such as replacing pipelines on hoses, lubricating machine, or replacing ejector pins May be required to verify machine set ups and adjust malfunctioning machines when necessary. May be required to dismantle dies for repair when necessary.

Ability to work independently and as part of a work group or team. Ability to work a flexible schedule. Able and willing to work in a manufacturing plant environment.
Credentials and Experience:
Must have a high school diploma; with one year hands on trade school in the electrical field. Forklift experience required. Complete the Basic Motoman Programming training. Attendance, Performance, Flexibility, Dependability, Work Quality and Initiative. Special Requirements Authorization to work and reside in the United States. Physical Requirements Able to read and interpret text, schematics, blueprints or drawings. 20/20 vision (with or without corrective lenses). Normal hearing ability (with or without corrective device). Able to work indoors and outdoors Able to kneel, stand or walk for a large portion of shift Able to climb ladders and work at heights frequently Lift items weighing up to 50 pounds infrequently without assistance Push, pull, lift and/or carry for short distances items weighing up to 35 pounds frequently Small motor skills including ability to grasp, control and use objects or tools. Fine motor skills, including manipulation of small objects.
