Tool, Die and Jig Maker

Job Description

Job Overview We are looking for an experienced Tool & Die / Jig & Fixture Maker to support a high-volume manufacturing environment. This person will be responsible for building, repairing, maintaining, and troubleshooting jigs, fixtures, gauges, weld tooling, assembly tooling, and die details used in production. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with tooling repairs, fixture adjustments, blueprint reading, GD&T, manual machining, and production support. This role will work closely with Engineering, Quality, and Production teams to resolve tooling issues, improve uptime, and support new program launches.
MUST HAVES
High school diploma or equivalent Tool & Die apprenticeship or equivalent hands-on experience Experience building, repairing, or maintaining jigs, fixtures, gauges, dies, or weld/assembly tooling Ability to read blueprints, GD&T, CAD drawings, fixture layouts, and specifications Manual machining experience with mills, lathes, grinders, or similar equipment Ability to troubleshoot tooling issues and support production downtime concerns Comfortable following safety procedures, lockout/tagout, and PPE requirements
JOB DESCRIPTION
Build, assemble, modify, repair, and maintain jigs, fixtures, gauges, weld tooling, assembly tooling, and die details Troubleshoot tooling problems related to quality issues, part fit, downtime, or production concerns Perform preventative and corrective maintenance on tooling and fixtures Machine tooling components using manual and CNC equipment such as mills, lathes, grinders, and EDM Set up, try out, and adjust fixtures and tooling in production areas Work with Engineering, Quality, and Production during tooling changes, launches, and continuous improvement projects Maintain tooling repair and maintenance documentation Keep work areas clean, organized, and safe Support tooling vendors or outside tool builds as needed
NICE TO HAVES
5+ years of Tool & Die, jig and fixture, or weld/assembly tooling experience Automotive supplier or high-volume manufacturing experience CNC machining experience EDM experience Welding or fabrication experience Forklift, crane, or lift equipment certification Experience supporting new program launches
