A Tool and Die Maker builds the tools and dies used to make a variety of products and appliances. Works with mechanical engineers to build and assemble parts according to blueprints.

Role:
As one of Forest City's Toolmakers, you'll play a key role in developing, improving, and executing processes within our Toolroom to support both new and existing product lines. You'll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design efficient workflows, enhance production capabilities, and drive continuous improvement across our operations. This is a hands-on opportunity where your technical expertise and problem-solving skills will directly shape how we manufacture today, and innovate for tomorrow.
What You'll Do:
Review prints and CAD models of needed components and determine the best approach to complete them within our timelines. Set up, program, and operate CNC machines and manual machines to make new details and modify existing ones. Evaluate, repair, and/or modify our existing automation and production equipment. Work with our engineers to develop and implement solutions for our production machines. Work with Tool and Die maker apprentices helping them in their training. Take components you've made and assemble them into our production and automation builds. Work with plant supervisors and other employees to help streamline production processes. Ensure all processes align with our Quality Management System (QMS) and Environmental Management System (EMS).
What You'll Bring:
Minimum of 2 years of experience in CNC machining. Multi axis CNC programming abilities, Mastercam preferred At least 4 years of experience as a Journeyperson Tool and Die Maker preferred. Journeyperson Card preferred. Focus in CNC Manufacturing. A strong understanding of mechanical principles. The ability to troubleshoot issues that arise when machining components.
