The O&P Technician provides clinical and technical support for all incoming O&P services and needs. This person is responsible for the technical development and knowledge of fabricating orthotic and prosthetic quality devices. Responsible for properly fabricating with in-depth knowledge, expertise, and ability to provide quality fabrication of orthotic and prosthetic devices. Must work with the practitioner and office team to coordinate and execute on-time deliveries. Responsibilities Fabricate orthotic and prosthetic devices based on patient needs and specifications submitted by practitioners. Keep the lab clean, organized, and safe. Keep lab stocked with parts and tools. Knowledge and technical skills are needed to fabricate and repair prostheses (artificial limbs) and orthoses (orthopedic braces) according to patient measurements and casts and comply with practitioners' work orders. Mechanical ability and hand-eye coordination to use laboratory tools safely and effectively. Effective organizational, time management, and planning skills. Good interpersonal and verbal skills for communicating with others. Ability to work effectively as a team member. Requirements High school diploma or equivalent Experience working with orthotic and prosthetic devices in a lab is preferred. Other functions : Compassionately communicate and document in OPIE. Regularly analyzes and completes task on time. Participates in process improvement efforts aimed at improving the patient and family experience, financial revenue, and expense targets. Within scope of the job, it requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgement and the ability to work with minimal supervision. You must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and take appropriate action. Manage compliance according to ABC accreditation, OSHA, federal and state law. Perform fabrication and repair of orthotic and/or prosthetic devices, according to Company quality and quantity standards. Perform ordering and receiving and other inventory tasks as assigned. Maintain a safe, clean and orderly work environment. Perform other related duties as required
