Based on experience Keep Production running. Be the die expert on the floor. Stafford Cutting Dies is hiring an Embedded Die Maker to work on-site at a key customer's manufacturing facility. You won't be tucked away in a back-room tool room; you'll be right on the production floor, the go-to person when a cutting die needs inspection, repair, or revision. When a die goes down, you're the reason it's back up fast. This is a hands-on role for someone with real mechanical aptitude who takes pride in precision work and likes solving problems in real time. What You'll Do Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair or revise cutting dies during production to keep downtime to a minimum Replace work or broken die components and perform revisions to improve die performance and life Operate toolroom equipment including grinders, chisels, and jigs Partner with the customers production, engineering, and quality teams to resolve recurring tooling issues Document repairs, modifications, and preventative maintenance in the on-site DPS system Maintain die-making equipment to OEM Standards Keep tool inventory at acceptable levels and organized Coordinate with outside vendoes and service providers as needed Keep your work area clean, safe, and organized, and follow all safety and quality protocols What You Bring Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of die cutting and/or a manufacturing environment Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specs, measure accurately, and follow SOPs Basic computer/ERP data entry skills and accurate documentation habits Excellent problem-solving and time-management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced setting Clear, respectful communication and a team-first attitude Attention to detail, reliability, and consistent attendance High school diploma or equivalent required Prior die making, die repair, or corrugated/packaging tooling experience strongly preferred Physical Requirements Regularly stand, walk, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs. Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures
