Position Description:
?Purpose The Engineering Technician provides comprehensive technical support and fabrication expertise for engineers and customers across research, design, development, testing, equipment maintenance, and manufacturing process improvement. Work encompasses both electrical/electronic and mechanical components, including equipment design, tool and die fabrication, preparing drawing sketches, and diagnostic repair. Essential Functions
- Provide fabrication support to project teams and engineers in equipment design and fabrication
- Set up, operate manual vertical milling machines, Lathes, and maintain tools, and other related fabrication equipment.
- Construct, fabricate, and test fixtures, tools, and mechanical components

- Assist in the development of quotes, timing, and project plans
- Communicate directly with customers and vendors to clarify needs, expectations, and requirements
- Plan and perform machining operations, utilizing precision measuring instruments, drawings, blueprints, and layouts
- Have a working knowledge of CNC programming, setup, and operation, including writing, editing, and optimizing G-code and M-code programs to manufacture high-precision components and custom fixtures from technical drawings or 3D models.
- Organize, review, and accurately document activities
- Assemble, construct, or install equipment requiring welding, connecting, or special fixtures
- Maintain equipment, room cleanliness, and housekeeping standards
- Follow safety procedures and wear protective equipment including safety glasses and steel-toed shoes
- Support TRC Inc.'s Quality and EH&S (Environmental, Health, and Safety) efforts Qualifications
- High school diploma required
- 4 years of related experience in machine shop/tool room environments
- Extensive knowledge of machine shop practices, tool room practices, and advanced technical skills
- Proficient in the use of tools, machinery, welding equipment, and precision measuring instruments
- Ability to read drawings, blueprints, and layouts to achieve required dimensions to very close tolerances
- Valid state DMV issued, or valid foreign country issued driver's license
- Demonstrated organizational and communication skills
- Basic computer skills Working conditions
