CNC Punch Tooling Specialist

Job Description

Work Schedule:
1st Shift — Monday-Thursday 6am-4:30pm OR 2nd Shift — Monday-Thursday 4:30pm-3am
Shift Premium:
Additional $1.50 for each hour worked on 2nd shift SUMMARY The CNC Punch Tooling Specialist ensures the smooth, efficient, and precise operation of Trumpf CNC punch machines by building, maintaining, and managing tooling resources. This role directly impacts production quality, minimizes downtime, and supports the overall productivity of the 1st Ops department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Primary Functions Build, sharpen, and maintain CNC punch tooling to ensure optimal performance. Prepare tooling according to the Dispatch List sequence as issued by scheduling. Organize, inventory, and request replacement tooling as needed. Maintain CNC punch schedule for all shifts and prepare tooling in advance for all scheduled jobs to minimize machine downtime. Ensure all tooling is maintained in accordance with manufacturer specifications and safety requirements. Follow all OSHA, company safety, and equipment maintenance procedures. Familiar with varying types of sheet metal (aluminum, galvanized, galvanneal, stainless, etc.). Secondary Functions Assist maintenance and machine operators with troubleshooting machinery issues when needed. Assist with sheet stock consolidation and maintain organization of sheet stock drops. Read and interpret blueprints accurately. Support quality inspection processes as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of 3 years' experience in CNC operations (Trumpf experience preferred). Prior manufacturing environment experience required. Proficient in precision measuring equipment and basic quality inspection methods. Knowledge of sheet metals including aluminum, galvanized, galvanneal, and stainless steel. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
