Molding Tooling Tech Summary of Responsibility Diagnoses malfunctioning systems, machines and equipment using test equipment, and/or hand tools to locate the cause of the breakdown and correct the problem. Job Description Repairs and replaces gauges valves, pressure regulators and related equipment. Sets up and operate machine tools such as lathe, grinder, drill, and milling machine to repair or fabricate machine parts, jigs, fixtures, and tools. Ensure all work is performed with EHS mindset. Perform routine, preventative and emergency maintenance on molds. Make minor modifications to molds. Solve technical issues and execution. Operates cutting torch or welding equipment to cut or join metal parts. Fabricates and repairs counters, benches, partitions, and wooden structures. Performs scheduled preventative maintenance tasks i.e. checking, cleaning, repairing equipment. Maintain positive team and plant environment to promote safety, employee engagement, and housekeeping. Coordinate and complete daily customer service requirements (i.e. work orders.) Manage assets (equipment, inventories, materials) to meet business objectives. Follow all documented procedures. Monitors and develops improvement in tooling procurement program based on performance tracking and cost analysis. Follow direction from senior tool manager, lead operations specialist and Lead Technician. Safely utilize material handling equipment and techniques. Health & Safety Ensure all safety and non-safety plant rules and regulations are followed. Ensure adherence to established housekeeping standards (5S). Respond immediately to items brought to his/her attention with respect to hazards, non-compliance issues. Adheres to DCS's health and safety, environmental, operating procedures, policies and forms. Work safely and actively support our safety systems through participation in safety audits, hazard identification and resolution, safety initiatives/teams and living the critical ten safety rules and three safety obligations. Minimum Qualifications Two+ years of related experience and/or training or equivalent combo of education and experience Associate's degree or equivalent from two year color or tech school Must be able to communicate in English. Knowledgeable in lockout tag-ouot Knowledgeable in equipment troubleshooting and repair. High level of initiative and must be self- motivated. Proficient in problem solving to root cause. Able to learn and use proficiently the IQMS system. Knowledgeable in fabrication / welding Working knowledge of injection molding / plastics processes Knowledgeable in PLC plus but not needed. Working knowledge in machinery, hydraulics, pneumatics and mechanical/electrical systems Basic computer skills - MS Word, Excel, Outlook Core Competencies Follows all operational procedures.
