We are seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker to work closely with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to build, repair, and improve tooling, fixtures, prototype components, and production support equipment. This role offers the opportunity to solve complex machining challenges while contributing to new product development and continuous improvement initiatives. Schedule 1st Shift Monday through Friday 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM Overtime as needed Key Responsibilities Interpret engineering drawings and specifications to fabricate prototype parts, tooling, fixtures, jigs, gauges, and production support equipment. Program, set up, troubleshoot, and operate CNC mills and turning centers. Operate manual machine tools including lathes, mills, and precision surface grinders. Independently plan machining operations, determine workholding methods, and select appropriate machining processes. Diagnose tooling issues and recommend improvements that enhance quality, productivity, and equipment reliability. Perform precision measurements and inspections using micrometers, height gauges, indicators, bore gauges, pin gauges, ring gauges, optical comparators, and other inspection equipment. Fit, assemble, troubleshoot, and modify tooling, fixtures, and prototype assemblies. Utilize advanced machining accessories including rotary tables, indexing heads, boring heads, sine bars, four-jaw chucks, faceplates, steady rests, and follower rests. Apply knowledge of materials, heat treatment processes, and machining techniques to achieve required results. Maintain equipment and perform preventive maintenance as needed. Ensure compliance with all safety procedures and PPE requirements. Collaborate with Engineering and Manufacturing teams to support prototype development, tooling improvements, and process optimization. Required Qualifications Five (5) or more years of experience in a toolroom, mold shop, prototype shop, or similar precision machining environment. Associate degree, technical certification in Machine Tool Technology, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong troubleshooting, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, GD&T, tolerances, fit requirements, surface finishes, and material specifications. Experience programming and operating CNC machining equipment. Experience with manual machining equipment including lathes, mills, and surface grinders. Strong understanding of machine shop safety procedures and best practices. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Preferred Qualifications Experience managing multiple projects and shifting priorities effectively. Familiarity with CAM software and post processors. Ability to interpret and make minor modifications to CAD models and engineering drawings. Experience with SolidWorks or similar CAD software. Mold repair experience including polishing, stoning, ejector pin cleaning, troubleshooting, and teardown. TIG welding experience for tooling modifications. MIG welding experience is a plus.
