Job Summary We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Die and Tool Maker to join our manufacturing team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, fabricating, repairing, and maintaining precision tools, dies, and molds used in various manufacturing processes. Your expertise will ensure the production of high-quality components through accurate machining, assembly, and troubleshooting of tooling equipment. Responsibilities Interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to produce precise tooling components. Set up and operate CNC machining centers including CNC lathes, milling machines, grinders, and electrical discharge machines (EDM) to manufacture dies and tools. Program CNC machines using CAD/CAM software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar tools to ensure accurate tool fabrication. Perform manual machining operations using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, and other precision measurement instruments to achieve tight tolerances. Fabricate and assemble tooling components for plastics injection molding, stamping presses, or other manufacturing processes. Conduct routine maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting of tooling equipment to minimize downtime and ensure optimal performance. Inspect finished tools using precision measurement instruments; verify dimensions against specifications and make adjustments as needed. Collaborate with engineering teams to interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics for complex tooling projects. Maintain a clean and organized shop environment while adhering to safety protocols at all times. Requirements Proven experience as a Die Maker or Tool & Die Maker within a manufacturing or toolroom environment. Strong mechanical knowledge with expertise in metal machining, fabrication, and tool setup. Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD or SolidWorks for designing tooling components. Skilled in CNC programming and operation of CNC lathe, milling machine, grinder, EDM machine, and stamping press equipment. Ability to interpret mechanical blueprints, schematics, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing). Experience with plastics injection molding processes is highly desirable. Familiarity with shop math including measurements using calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and other precision instruments. Knowledge of welding techniques for tool repair or fabrication purposes. Strong understanding of manufacturing processes related to tooling and die making. Excellent manual machining skills combined with the ability to read schematics and electrical diagrams. Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high standards of quality.
