O&P Technician About this Role Are you someone who enjoys working with your hands, solving problems, and knowing that your work can make a real difference in someone's life? As an O&P Technician at West Texas Rehabilitation Center, you'll play an important behind-the-scenes role in helping patients regain mobility, independence, and confidence. Working under the direction of our Orthotics and Prosthetics practitioners, you'll use your technical skills, mechanical aptitude, and attention to detail to fabricate, repair, and maintain orthotic and prosthetic devices designed to meet individual patient needs. What You'll Do Fabricate orthotic and prosthetic devices according to practitioner specifications and designs. Repair and maintain a variety of orthotic and prosthetic devices. Safely operate and maintain department equipment. Maintain an organized inventory of fabrication and repair supplies. Assist with ordering and receiving supplies. Follow established safety procedures and maintain a clean, safe work environment. Assist department staff as needed. Carry out additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by practitioners and department leadership. High school diploma/GED or equivalent required. Previous training and/or experience in Orthotics and Prosthetics or mechanical aptitude. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality work. Ability to communicate effectively and work well with others. Ability to stay organized, meet deadlines, and manage a full workload. Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic. Ability to follow direction while demonstrating initiative and a willingness to learn. Ability to safely perform the physical requirements of the position, including lifting up to 55 pounds and sustaining tasks over extended work periods.
