Startup of line after changeover. Getting product in specification before turning the line over to production.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
May include, but are not limited to, the following: Make all die changes Set up all downstream equipment for size pipe to be run Purge machines for changeover Cut and build plugs Cut rubber for tanks and bellers Build heads Pre-heat tooling Ensure all downstream equipment is in proper working order Maintain inventory of tooling and supplies Electrically wire all heads Train production team members Be available for occasional unscheduled overtime
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
High School Diploma or GED 2 years' experience in Extrusion or 3 or more years in Industrial Maintenance
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit; stand; walk; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
This position has a transitioning work environment. Office/computer, manufacturing plant and outdoor environments are normal. The noise level in the plant environment is usually high, as normal for a manufacturing plant. Some of the work in the operating units may require usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, steel toe shoes, fall protection, hard hats, etc. Westlake offers you the potential to enrich your work life and career experience in an entrepreneurial environment.
