Setup Technician Salt Lake City, UT Job Details $20 - $26 an hour 5 days ago Qualifications High school diploma or GED Blueprint reading Quality standards in production Full Job Description Job Summary Join our fiberglass and composites manufacturing team in Salt Lake City as a Setup Technician, earning $20-$26 per hour based on experience level. You'll play a critical role in preparing molds and materials for high-quality composite production using advanced RTM processes. What You'll Do Clean, wax, and seal fiberglass molds to ensure proper release and surface quality Cut and lay up fiberglass mat, cloth, and reinforcement materials according to specifications Operate Resin Transfer Molding (RTM) equipment to inject resin into prepared molds Monitor curing cycles and safely demold finished components without damage Trim, grind, sand, and buff composite parts to meet dimensional and surface finish requirements Inspect parts for defects including gel coat inconsistencies, air pockets, and surface imperfections Perform minor mold repairs and maintenance to keep production running smoothly Maintain clean, organized work areas following 6S standards and safety protocols

What You Bring Required:

High school diploma or GED Ability to read blueprints, work instructions, and process sheets Experience with hand tools and power tools (grinders, sanders, cutting tools) Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality standards Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding conditions

Preferred:

Experience with fiberglass, composites, or RTM manufacturing processes Background in gel coat application and repair Familiarity with Lean Manufacturing or 6S practices Pay & Compensation $20-$22 per hour for Setup Technician Level 1 $22-$26 per hour for Setup Technician Level 2 REASONS
