Job Description

Job Overview The Technician II is an experienced technical professional responsible for performing advanced maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and installation of equipment, systems, or technology within their assigned area. This role works with minimal supervision, resolves moderately complex technical issues, and may provide guidance or support to junior technicians. The Technician II ensures work is completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with established standards, procedures, and regulations, while contributing to continuous improvement of operations and service quality. Responsibilities Inspect, operate, or test machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions. Diagnose mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs, as necessary. Inspect equipment, structures, or materials to identify the cause of errors or other problems or defects. Get information by observing, receiving, and otherwise obtaining information from all relevant sources. Troubleshoot and determine causes of operating errors, including watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure a machine is working properly. Control machine and processes using either control mechanisms or direct physical activity to operate machines or processes. Operate cranes, hoists, or other moving or lifting equipment. Conduct set-ups on Inserting and Bindery equipment. Repair machines or systems using the necessary tools. Exhibit a sense of urgency and consistently meet production goals that are set by the Mailshop Supervisor daily Consistently crosscheck quality of jobs against insert or inkjet sample and job tickets. Actively participates in the continuous improvement process for quality control, productivity, and operating procedures. Maintain a clean and safe working environment. Consistent and Reliable attendance is mandatory. All other duties as assigned. Qualifications Proven experience in manufacturing or aerospace environments with a strong background in aircraft or vehicle maintenance; military experience is a plus. Proficiency in reading schematics, CAD drawings (including AutoCAD), and technical manuals related to aviation or mechanical systems. Hands-on electrical experience including troubleshooting wiring diagrams, schematics, and electrical components using multimeters such as ohmmeters and ammeters. Mechanical knowledge encompassing assembly/disassembly of complex systems using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and fabrication techniques. Familiarity with industry standards such as AS9100 quality management system requirements for aerospace manufacturing. Ability to perform precision measurements using micrometers, calipers, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other inspection tools accurately. Strong problem-solving skills with experience conducting root cause analysis for equipment failures or quality issues. Knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations (FAR), aviation safety protocols, airframe structures, avionics systems or aircraft maintenance practices is highly desirable. Physical capability for heavy lifting and working in confined spaces or elevated positions; willingness to adhere to safety procedures at all times.
