Job Description

SUMMARY :
Maximize utilization of Stamping department by maintaining, troubleshooting, and improving the stamping dies. The Tool and Die Operator will be responsible for, the production of their associated stamping die, while maintaining a safe and clean work environment.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Premium Pay with experience
  • Maintains and troubleshoots dies with minimal supervision or direction.
Troubleshoots die problems with minimal amount of production down time. Prioritizes workload to meet the needs of production. Performs die changeovers as required. Supports and implements continuous tooling improvements on all dies for increased utilization and efficiency. Supports and implements continuous process improvements throughout the Stamping department. Follows all standard operating procedures and work instructions. Builds and modifies spare parts as needed. Participates in recommendations for die design improvements. Participates in problem solving teams. Maintains a safe work environment and good housekeeping practices. Supports Lean/Six Sigma initiatives and programs actively. Understands, supports, contributes to current Falls Stamping Quality and Environmental systems by following stated policies and procedures. Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must have 5 years experience with Progressive Dies. Proficient at all aspects of precision machining and grinding required. Knowledge of press auxiliary equipment, i.e., feeders, sensors, vision, and lube systems. Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret standard operating procedures, blueprints, and work instructions.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this job, the individual is to remain in a stationary position for 60 percent of the time while operating the machine on the shop floor. They constantly operate motorized equipment and machines. The individual needs to occasionally move about on the shop floor to transport parts, access tools, equipment, parts, and other necessary items to complete the work order. The individual frequently positions self to operate and repair machines, including underneath and above the machine. They use the hands continuously while performing all job duties. Most of the activities involve fine and gross manipulation of items. They must be able to exchange accurate information with other individuals in the office and shop. Must be able to detect mechanical issues and part defects from short distances to determine what action needs to be taken. They must regularly push, pull, and/or move up to 60 pounds. The individual must be capable of carrying and loading different parts and tools required to complete the job.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical parts; fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The individual will be exposed to loud machinery or equipment. Due to the risk of electrical hazards while installing or servicing, additional personal protective equipment and procedures may need to be followed. Due to exposure of machinery and electrical currents, employees are required to wear personal protective equipment such as ear and eye protection, gloves, and steel toes. During warmer months, the required personal protective equipment may cause the employee to be very warm while working. The individual will be exposed to loud machinery or equipment
