Global Machine Works is located in Arlington, WA. We are a mid-sized manufacturer of machined and assembled components for space, defense, military, commercial and aerospace industries. Experienced Machinists should be able to set-up first run parts, trouble shoot and improve efficiencies of existing programs, inspect parts and be dependable. Canidates must have related machining and manufacturing experience with CNC Lathe or Mills.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Utilize various types of numerically controlled, and computerized machine shop equipment to perform machining operations on all types of materials including but not limited to ferrous and nonferrous metals, nonmetallic materials, their alloys, and synthetic materials
- Work from and in accordance with specifications and design criteria including but not limited to verbal instructions, drawings, and blueprints; performs standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, speeds, and feeds of machining
- Use a wide variety of precision measuring instruments; maintains accurate dimensional tolerances based upon drawings
- Select the appropriate cutting tools
- Set up and operate a variety of Cell machines to perform multiple machining operations and ensure the proper utilization of equipment and material
- Improvise production aides as necessary to facilitate operations
- Possess and maintain thorough knowledge of industry, machinery, techniques and thorough knowledge of all applicable safety regulations and considerations
- Ensure part count and data entry is accurate and correct consistently for both the Job Traveler and MES computer system
- Maintain a clean work area including: sweeping, mopping, and wiping down machines.
- Machine maintenance as instructed by management
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to communicate. The employee frequently is required to move, reach, lift, handle, feel, ascend/descend, observe, inspect, detect, handle or position self to observe. Ability to lift or move up to 50lbs frequently.WORK ENVIRONMENT
This job operates in a machine shop environment. Must be able to remain standing/walking position for majority of the time. This position is required to work around high-speed machinery and equipment and the use of any required safety equipment. There is exposure to machine oil, metal filings, unpleasant odors and noise. Job functions on and around mechanized equipment will present the need for alertness, accuracy and safety awareness.OTHER DUTIES
