Job Description

About the Role We are seeking a highly skilled Tooling Specialist to contribute to the fabrication and upkeep of tooling, fixtures, and production equipment. In this role, you will apply your expertise in machining and blueprint reading to ensure the precision and quality of our manufacturing processes. Your proficiency with CNC equipment and various measuring instruments will be essential to your success. Responsibilities Operate a variety of machine tools, including vertical and horizontal mills, lathes, and grinders, to fabricate and repair tooling components. Program and operate CNC machining equipment to create precision parts. Utilize precision measuring instruments, such as micrometers, calipers, and height gauges, to ensure parts meet tight tolerances (within .0005 inches). Interpret and verify blueprints, identifying and correcting errors to ensure accurate layouts and measurements. Assemble, repair, and maintain dies, fixtures, gauges, and other production equipment. Troubleshoot and resolve complex tooling issues to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency. Collaborate with team members to produce high-quality products in a safe and efficient manner. Adhere to company policies and procedures, ensuring all tasks are performed safely and accurately. Qualifications Required Skills Associate's degree in a technical machine tool program. Minimum of 5 years of experience in a machining environment. Minimum of 3 years of experience in tool and die fabrication and repair. Strong math skills, including proficiency in fractions, geometry, and trigonometry. Ability to read and interpret blueprints. Proficiency in setting up and operating machining equipment. Preferred Skills Proficient in the building of blanking, punching, and forming dies. Working knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics. Familiarity with CAM software packages such as GibbsCAM. Trained in the use of crane rigging and forklift operation.
