Responsibilities Operate and maintain water treatment equipment, including pumps, valves, and programmable logic controllers (PLCs), to ensure optimal system performance. Conduct routine inspections of wastewater treatment plants and water systems to identify issues and perform necessary repairs or adjustments. Collect and analyze water quality data to monitor system effectiveness and compliance with environmental regulations. Perform heavy equipment operation, including construction machinery and industrial pumps, adhering to safety protocols and PPE requirements. Troubleshoot mechanical problems with water treatment and wastewater systems, performing repairs or coordinating with maintenance teams for complex issues. Maintain detailed records of equipment maintenance, system performance, safety inspections, and data collection activities. Follow safety regulations rigorously, including proper use of PPE and adherence to environmental standards during all operations. Experience Proven experience working in water treatment or wastewater treatment plants, with a strong understanding of water systems and environmental compliance standards. Hands-on knowledge of industrial pump operation, equipment repair, and heavy equipment operation within utility or energy sectors. Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) used in automated water management processes. Experience working with wastewater systems, including waste management procedures at treatment facilities or industrial sites. Mechanical knowledge related to plumbing, pump operation, equipment maintenance, and troubleshooting complex machinery. Ability to perform basic math calculations for data analysis, system monitoring, and operational adjustments. Construction experience or familiarity with heavy lifting tasks associated with infrastructure maintenance or upgrades is a plus.
