The Wells Utility Supervisor reports to the Water Distribution Superintendent. The primary functions of this position include: Lead and supervise a team of up to eleven, providing daily work direction, training and development, performance evaluations, and hands-on coaching Oversee day-to-day operations, maintenance, and repairs across Gilbert's remote water infrastructure — including reservoirs, well sites, booster sites, and treatment facilities Monitor water system performance through SCADA and help ensure ongoing compliance with county, state, and federal water quality regulations Plan and coordinate capital improvement projects and technology upgrades, including remote chlorination system enhancements Prepare and manage the department's annual operating budget, including forecasting, cost estimates, and expenditure tracking For a full list of duties, please review the job description.

In addition to possessing the ability to live out our core and functional values daily, candidates for this position must possess the following requirements: High School Diploma or GED. 1 Year of specialized or technical training beyond high school. 5 Years of experience in a water treatment plant or wells and reservoir operations and maintenance. 2 Years of lead or supervisory experience. Grade II Water Treatment Operator Certification and Grade IV Water Distribution from ADEQ at time of hire (equivalent certification from another state through reciprocity with Arizona at application submission date and certification of reciprocity must be obtained within 3 months of hire.). Hazardous Waste and Emergency Response Certificate (HAZWOPER). Arizona Class D Driver's License. Any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work.
