COMPANY BACKGROUND OCT
Water Quality Academy is a private 501(c)(3) non-profit career school dedicated to the municipal water/wastewater industry for 35 years.
ROLE SUMMARY
We are seeking experienced individuals with a passion for educating Water and Wastewater operators. Instructors will need strong water and/or wastewater industry operations knowledge to present class materials with accompanying visual aids. Instructors are responsible for planning and implementing OCT's successful instructional program which focuses on meeting the needs, interests, and abilities of students utilizing the school's approved curriculum. Classes typically range from 1 to 7 days, 7 to 8 hours per day. Scheduling is flexible to accommodate your availability. A teaching certification/credential is not required to apply for this position; however instructors will be required to follow quality standards set by our accreditation agency.
LOCATION
The school's office and main classroom are located in Sacramento, CA. Ability to travel onsite to host classes at water/wastewater districts preferred. SALARY $35.71 - $71.43 per hour.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic Qualifications:
High school graduate or GED A minimum of 5 years industry experience (Plant or System Supervisor, Chief, Senior or Primary Responsible Operator experience preferred) Good industry operations (water/wastewater) knowledge. Good verbal and written communication skills. Good presentation skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience as a water/wastewater instructor/teacher at a recognized school Bachelor of Science (BS) or Arts (BA) in STEM related field A currently active state water and/or wastewater Grade 3 and above operator license.
