Genesee Water and Sanitation District Genesee, Colorado Salary Range:
$96,000 - $130,000 DOE + Excellent Benefits Lead an Award-Winning Utility and Help Shape Its Future The Genesee Water and Sanitation District is seeking an experienced, motivated, and forward-thinking water and wastewater professional to serve as our next District Superintendent and Operator in Responsible Charge (ORC). This is a unique opportunity to lead an award-winning utility recognized for excellence in water treatment, water quality, distribution system operations, and environmental stewardship. Located in the scenic foothills west of Denver, Genesee combines the beauty of mountain living with the opportunity to manage diverse and sophisticated water and wastewater systems serving a highly engaged community. Working closely with the District Manager, the Superintendent provides leadership for all aspects of District operations, including water and wastewater treatment, distribution and collection systems, regulatory compliance, maintenance programs, capital improvements, and staff development. This position offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the District's operations, infrastructure, and long-term strategic planning. What You'll Do Lead the operation, maintenance, and optimization of the District's water and wastewater facilities and systems. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations. Oversee capital improvement projects, asset management initiatives, and infrastructure planning. Develop, mentor, and support a skilled operations team while promoting a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement. Manage preventative maintenance programs and operational efficiencies to ensure system reliability. Serve as a trusted technical resource to District leadership, staff, regulators, consultants, and the community. Respond to operational challenges and emergencies while maintaining exceptional service to customers. What We're Looking For The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who combines strong technical expertise with excellent communication and management skills. Minimum Qualifications Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in water and wastewater operations, including supervisory experience. Colorado Class B Water Treatment Certification. Colorado Class B Wastewater Treatment Certification. Colorado Class 3 Water Distribution Certification. Colorado Class 2 Wastewater Collection Certification. Valid Colorado Driver's License.
