Sanitation Supervisor Job Description Supervise the sanitation groups and provide hands on leadership for the implementation and coordination of sanitation programs. This is a working Supervisor position, in which the Supervisor performs the same cleaning tasks, side-by-side the crew while supervising. Fills in for tasks and duties when crew members are absent; must be flexible with hours and days to assure required tasks are completed on time and with minimal risk to the food safety program. Duties Ensure that the Plant and grounds are in compliance with all Sanitation regulations required for food plants, and internal and third party audit criteria. Ensure that all employees follow all company policies and procedures for the safe, quality, efficient and ethical operation of the plant. Oversee sanitation employees who are engaged in activities pertaining to sanitation Implement sanitation procedures and training for all production lines Follow all safety-related procedures and write accident reports when needed Monitor employee work assignments through timekeeping system Evaluate and appraise sanitation employees performance with proper documentation Monitor weekly chemical usage and equipment availability Conduct monthly titration tests Review daily/weekly/monthly master sanitation schedule for completeness and accuracy Assist in quarterly sanitation safety training for all sanitation employees Maintain Safe Quality Food Level 3 audit requirements Other duties as assigned Requirements HS Diploma or GED required; associate's or bachelor's degree in food science, industrial hygiene, environmental health, manufacturing, or related field preferred Minimum of 3-5 years of sanitation experience in a manufacturing environment Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience preferred Ability to lift 50 lbs, working in a wet environment Flexibility to work different shifts as needed Communication skills with all levels of staff Strong written and verbal communication skills Knowledge of computer skills, including knowledge working in MS Office Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines Employer conducts drug and background screenings
