Job Description
Wastewater Certified Operator The City of American Falls is seeking a dependable and motivated Wastewater Certified Operator to join our Water and Wastewater Department. This position performs technical, operational, and maintenance duties associated with the City's wastewater treatment facilities, collection system, and water distribution system. Primary responsibilities include operating and maintaining treatment equipment and pump stations, collecting and testing wastewater samples, maintaining required records, monitoring treatment processes, performing equipment repairs and preventative maintenance, and assisting with the maintenance and repair of City water, sewer, street, and storm drainage systems as needed. Applicants should be self-motivated, organized, mechanically inclined, safety-conscious, and able to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. A valid Idaho driver's license is required. Applicants must possess a Class B CDL with Tanker Endorsement or be able to obtain one within three months of hire. Wastewater certification is preferred; however, candidates may obtain Operator-in-Training (OIT) status within six months and Class I Wastewater Treatment certification within one year.
