In this role, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining wastewater treatment equipment to ensure compliance with environmental regulations. Your proactive approach and technical expertise will help safeguard water quality and support sustainable water management practices. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in the energy and utilities sector, applying your mechanical knowledge and operational skills to make a meaningful impact. Duties Operate wastewater treatment plant equipment, including pumps, valves, and control systems such as programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and distributed control systems (DCS) to ensure optimal performance. Monitor water quality parameters through data collection and analysis, adjusting processes as needed to meet environmental compliance standards. Perform routine inspections, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on wastewater systems and water treatment equipment to prevent downtime. Manage heavy equipment operation safely, including tankers and industrial pumps, adhering strictly to safety regulations and personal protective equipment (PPE) protocols. Conduct routine cleaning, calibration, and preventive maintenance on water treatment equipment to ensure longevity and efficiency. Document operational data accurately, prepare reports on system performance, maintenance activities, and compliance status for regulatory agencies. Assist in emergency response procedures related to wastewater system issues or environmental incidents, coordinating with relevant authorities when necessary. Experience Prior experience working in a wastewater treatment plant or water utility environment is highly preferred. Demonstrated knowledge of wastewater systems, water treatment processes, and related equipment operation. Hands-on experience with programmable logic controllers (PLCs), distributed control systems (DCS), and industrial pump maintenance and repair. Familiarity with environmental regulations governing wastewater treatment and water utility distribution is essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment efficiently in a fast-paced setting. Strong analytical skills combined with basic math proficiency for data analysis and process adjustments. Mechanical aptitude with the ability to troubleshoot equipment issues quickly and effectively while maintaining safety standards.
