Job Description

Sterling Engineering is partnering with an industrial energy provider to hire a Plant Water Treatment Manager for its East Chicago, IN facility. This is a hands-on opportunity for someone with experience in industrial water treatment, water filtration, utilities, or power generation who understands the importance of maintaining water quality in a demanding plant environment.

$75,000-$95,000 annually +
Bonus Potential Responsibilities:
Maintain water quality specifications required to support plant operations, electricity generation, and steam productionMaintain water plant production and makeup water for boiler systemsPerform water sampling, testing, analysis, reporting, and monitoringMonitor and adjust chemical levels throughout boiler, closed loop, cooling tower, and other water systemsOperate and maintain water filtration, cooling tower, condensate, and feedwater systemsMaintain and inspect chemical storage, feed, and control equipmentMaintain and calibrate online analyzers including pH, conductivity, hardness, chlorine, silica, and sodiumTroubleshoot plant processes and equipment and perform root cause analysisCoordinate with chemical suppliers and plant partners to maintain reliable operationsFollow proper safety procedures when handling chemicals, maintaining equipment, and performing lockout/tagout activities
Requirements:
Must Have:
3-5+ years of experience in industrial water treatment, water filtration, power generation, utilities, or a related industrial environment
Must Have:
Strong understanding of water treatment processes and plant equipment
Must Have :
Experience with boiler water, cooling towers, filtration, chemical treatment, or feedwater systemsHands on experience with water sampling, testing, and chemical adjustments Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skillsUnderstanding of environmental and safety regulationsAbility to independently coordinate multiple plant priorities and see projects through completionValid driver's licenseAssociate degree in Water Treatment or coursework in math, physical science, water filtration, or chemistry preferredQualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, age, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or genetic information.
