Job Overview The City of Walton is seeking a qualified and experienced Wastewater Manager to oversee the daily management and operation of the City's municipal wastewater treatment plant and collection system. The Wastewater Manager will provide leadership and supervision to wastewater operations personnel while ensuring the safe, efficient, and regulatory-compliant operation of the wastewater treatment plant, collection system, pump stations, and associated infrastructure.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage and oversee daily wastewater treatment plant and collection system operations. Supervise wastewater personnel, including assigning work, monitoring performance, and conducting employee evaluations. Ensure compliance with Kentucky Division of Water regulations, permit requirements, and applicable environmental standards. Monitor treatment processes and make operational adjustments to maintain effluent quality and overall plant performance. Oversee wastewater collection system operations, including pump stations, sewer lines, and related infrastructure. Utilize SCADA systems to monitor treatment processes and pump station operations. Assist with budgeting, purchasing, capital improvement planning, and management of wastewater projects. Coordinate and oversee capital improvement projects, including treatment plant expansions, sewer line replacements, and pump station modifications. Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate maintenance and repairs to wastewater infrastructure. Maintain accurate operational records, reports, and regulatory documentation. Promote safe work practices and ensure employees follow established safety and operating procedures. Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS

Demonstrated experience in wastewater management and supervision. Valid Kentucky Class II Wastewater Treatment Operator License required. Valid Kentucky Class II Wastewater Collection System Operator License required. Experience operating and maintaining municipal wastewater treatment and collection systems. Knowledge of wastewater treatment processes, pump stations, SCADA systems, and regulatory compliance. Experience with budgeting, capital projects, and infrastructure planning. Strong leadership, communication, troubleshooting, and organizational skills. Ability to effectively supervise personnel and coordinate daily operations. Ability to work independently and respond to operational issues and emergencies as needed.

Pay:

$56,160.00 - $82,160.00 per year
