Job Description

PLANT OPERATOR
I or
II WASTEWATER TREATMENT PLANT
3rd Shift (11:00 pm - 7:00 am) Interested in chemistry, biology, environmental science, agriculture, plumbing, waterworks, engineering, or community services? Put your skills to work protecting public health and the environment as a Wastewater Plant Operator with the City of Westminster. In this hands-on role, you'll help operate and monitor the City's wastewater treatment plant, perform laboratory testing, track biological treatment processes, control wastewater flow, and assist with sludge handling and disposal in compliance with State regulations. Every day, you'll play a key role in treating millions of gallons of wastewater, safeguarding local waterways, and supporting a cleaner, healthier community as the City promotes the PUREWater project!
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED Valid Class C driver's license Ability to obtain a Class A license within one year Ability to earn a Maryland Class V Wastewater Treatment Certification, leading to promotion to Certified Operator 3rd
Shift:
Hourly rate range depends on experience, $17.7680 - $18.50 per hour, plus
Third Shift:
+$15% of base rate per hour (non-certified) $21.1100 - $22.50 per hour, plus
Third Shift:
+$15% of base rate per hour (certified)
