OPERATIONS SPECIALIST

to join our team in the Southwest, Michigan area. FVOP supports our staff through training and professional development. Responsibilities:

Perform water / wastewater treatment plant operations and maintenance. Operate and maintain water distribution systems (mains, valves, and hydrants). Operate and maintain sewer collection systems (pump stations). Respond to water and sewer emergencies. Perform water / wastewater sampling and monitoring. Perform laboratory analysis for water quality parameters. Perform housekeeping and facility maintenance. Keep accurate records.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED (or equivalent) required. Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Possession of a Class D or higher Michigan Municipal wastewater certification is preferred. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills. Ability to follow oral and written technical directions. Ability to multi-task, prioritize and maintain high attention to detail in a fast-paced environment. Ability to work effectively with employees, customers, and the public. Ability to perform on-call and weekend rotations. Team player who is willing to pitch in. Equal Opportunity Employer
