Job Description

Wastewater Plant Operator Are you looking for a career that protects public health and supports the environment? The City of Charlotte is hiring a full-time Wastewater Plant Operator to assist with the operation and maintenance of our wastewater treatment plant. If you're mechanically inclined and ready to work with purpose, we'd love to hear from you! ​
What You'll Do:
​ Operate and maintain pumps, motors, valves, and other treatment plant equipment Collect and test wastewater samples to ensure safe treatment processes Monitor gauges, meters, and flow levels Add and adjust chemicals used in treatment Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of equipment and plant facilities Assist with repairs and troubleshooting as needed Keep detailed and accurate records of plant performance
What You Bring:
High school diploma or equivalent Valid Michigan Driver's License Class D Wastewater Operator Certificate•or ability to obtain within 2 years Mechanical aptitude and basic maintenance skills Ability to read and follow instructions, complete records, and work as part of a team Physical ability to lift 50+ pounds, climb ladders, and perform manual labor in a plant setting Strong attention to safety and environmental standards

Pay Range:
