Job Description

Position Summary:
The Operator In-Training-Water Division, part of the Public Works - Water Division, is responsible for receiving on-the-job instruction and practical experience necessary to become a qualified Water Operator Level 1. This role is designed to provide training and guidance to individuals aspiring to enter the field of water systems operation.
Key Responsibilities:
Undergo comprehensive on-the-job training to become proficient in water systems operation. Learn and apply the theory and practice of water system operation . Assist experienced operators in daily water system operations. Follow established safety protocols and water system procedures. Work closely with the Water Division team to ensure efficient water system operations. Perform tasks as directed by supervisors to support training objectives.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED certificate. NM Class D Driver's License. Enthusiasm for learning and pursuing a career in water system operations. Commitment to safety and adherence to protocols.
Skills and Abilities:
Eagerness to acquire knowledge and skills related to water system operations. Effective communication and teamwork skills.
Working Conditions:
This role involves outdoor work and exposure to water system environments. Training will be provided to support skill development. This position is subject to on call status
